The administrative staff is fully committed to helping provide the tools necessary for students, faculty, and alumni to have the most positive educational experience possible. They are deeply committed and dedicated people!
Beth Carey, CMT

After serving as Acting Director for one year, Beth was recently appointed as the Director of Education. She joined the PMTI faculty in 2004 and has held teaching positions in both academic and practical classes. She graduated from PMTI’s Professional Training Program in 2002, is a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the District of Columbia and Maryland, and certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Beth has advanced training in Reiki, prenatal massage, connective tissue massage, orthopedic massage, and craniosacral therapy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Bryn Mawr College, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and has studied additional courses in Biology and Chemistry. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, she was a public health analyst for the US Department of Health and Human Service’s Office on Women’s Health. In addition to her work with PMTI, Beth maintains a private massage therapy practice.
Bruce Hunt, CMT, CLP

Bruce Hunt graduated from PMTI in July 1986. He has a Bachelor of Social Work from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. Bruce serves PMTI as the Clinic Manager, supervising both the Student Clinic and Professional Clinic. He has also been a Level 3 instructor since 1998. In 2002, Bruce was given the honor of Teacher of the Year, a peer selected award. After graduation from PMTI, Bruce worked as a massage therapist at a busy chiropractic office in Northern Virginia for twelve years. Currently he maintains his private practice in Fairfax, Virginia. He is licensed to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Brooke Pleas

After graduating from Central High School in 2001, Brooke went on to attend Potomac Job Corps. There she studied Word Processing, graduating in 2002. Her Word Processing certification led her to become a Personal Secretary at National Public Radio in Washington, DC. She went on to become an Evening Receptionist at Sanz School in Falls Church, VA. She joined the PMTI faculty in April 2009. In her spare time she volunteers at an organization called Food & Friends that specializes in packing hot and cold foods for persons with HIV/AIDS and is a certified life guard.

Teresa has recently joined PMTI's administrative team. In addition to blessing us with her formidable accounting and office management skills, Teresa is a beautifully talented artist... the gorgeous mural that graces our entrance is her creation.
Robert Kinnish

Robert comes to PMTI from an IT background. He joined PMTI's staff in 2004 as our Front Desk AA and has since taken on oversight of our website and our technology needs. It is Robert's voice you will likely hear when you call and his shining face you will see when you come into the Main Office.
Patrick Jordan

Patrick is a graduate from Clemson University and has a B.A. degree in Production Studies in Performing Arts with a Theatre Emphasis as well as a minor in Business Administration. Patrick is from Lexington, South Carolina where he still has family.
