Volunteer Massage Therapists for Lupus Walk

Walk With Us to Cure Lupus – Washington, DC
Saturday, October 20, 2018
The National Harbor
Walkers Arrive: 9:00 am
Walk Ends: Noon

The Lupus Research Alliance is the world’s leading private funder of lupus research. Our goal: improve treatments while advancing lupus research toward a cure.

Lupus is a serious disease that can affect anyone. It is most often diagnosed in young women, between the ages of 15 and 44. While the cause is not known, lupus is an autoimmune disease – in which your immune system attacks healthy cells by mistake – that can potentially damage many parts of the body. There is no known cure for lupus, though effective treatments are available. The most prominent side effect from lupus is joint and muscle pain – to the degree where the patient cannot even get out of bed on some days. We know massage can be a relief for so many sufferers and help them with their mobility.

We are seeking massage therapists and/or students to come and volunteer their time with some chair and/or table massages. The event details are above.
