About the event

Participants in this one-day seminar will explore sports massage theory and technique and examine common sports-related injuries. Specific massage protocols for performing pre-event and recovery massage will be covered. 

Participants will leave the seminar with an understanding of the principles of sports massage and the basic tools necessary to perform a sports massage in the clinic or on the field. 

6 CE hours | $175.00

About the Instructor

Stephen Conti, owner of Tocar Spa and Tocar Sport, is a licensed massage therapist, health and wellness coach, and senior strength trainer.  Stephen has worked in spas, clinical, and sports environments for the past 17 years and concentrates his practice on orthopedic and post-event sports recovery massage. 

He has served as the lead massage therapist for the U.S. Soccer Federation’s (USSF) U17 & U20’s Men’s team since 2015, and most recently the U20 WNT in 2022. In this role, he provided sports massages at the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers and FIFA World Cups. He also served the US Soccer’s Women’s National Team (WNT) in 2021 and 2022.  Currently, he heads the massage therapy team at the University of Maryland for a number of NCAA sports.  

Stephen received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Maryland College Park.
