About the event

Ortho-Bionomy is a threefold healing education system incorporating an incredibly broad range of bodywork and self-manœuvres. On the table, the practitioner uses robust movements or precise compressions which open range of movement and balance body alignment; light contacts which promote flow of fluids and gently open tissue restrictions; and subtlest contacts which promote the overall healing process.

The term Ortho-Bionomy means “right life understanding”.  It illuminates the self-healing impulses at play throughout the entire human being. Typical results of Ortho-Bionomy sessions are: musculoskeletal imbalances self-correct, pain eases, organ function improves and the client simply feels more at home within his or her own skin.

Founded over 40 years ago by an osteopath and judo instructor who was raised Mennonite, Ortho-Bionomy is remarkable for its easeful simplicity, versatility, highly practical outcomes and deeply spiritual undertones.

Come learn a bit more about this elegant and effective healing art. Brief demonstrations with volunteers are included in the presentation.

Instructor Miranda Monkhorst-Prenger has taught Ortho-Bionomy across the country, and has maintained a family Ortho-Bionomy practice in Gainesville, FL, since 1996. Prior to that, she worked as a pædiatric immunology researcher. She has spent a combined 42 years studying and exploring the mystery of the human healing process, as it unfolds within or with others, over time.
