This 6-hour course explains, demonstrates, and offers participants experiences grounded in communication skills that lead to deep connection with oneself and with others. It is an elegant synergy of empathy accessed through the skills of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and insight made possible through the skills of HeartMath®. The focus of this class is on the scientifically-demonstrated link between feelings, needs, and physiological changes in human heart rates which either facilitate or inhibit one’s access to clear thinking, creative problem solving, and deeply-connected and equitable relationships.

Students will leave the class with an understanding of the direct impact emotions have on human heart rhythms and, in turn, how those rhythms impair or facilitate brain function.
