About the event
We are pleased to invite you to join us for Practitioner Appreciation Night, hosted by AIM Health institutes at PMTI on Friday November 1 2019 at 6:30 pm.
Why are we celebrating? Last year, Bread for the City, a DC social services organization, received a government grant to address chronic pain in response to the opioid epidemic. Bread for the City partnered with AIM Health Institute to provide acupuncture and massage at the NW medical clinic twice a week. These clinics opened in December 2018, and will continue through September 2020, with hope for future funding.
Please join us on Practitioner Appreciation Night as we thank the dedicated team of the Bread for the City clinic for chronic pain. It is through their commitment to this program and their caring attention to patients that AIM thrives.
While affluent populations are able to access massage, acupuncture, and integrative services, for DC’s Medicaid patients and vulnerable populations these treatments are out of reach. At AIM we believe that improving access is essential not only for health equity, but also as a critical aspect of increasing the visibility and acceptability of an integrative model as the future of medicine.
To do so we must grow to include new locations and new partnerships, and in turn, build our team of enthusiastic and service minded practitioners. To that end, we seek to recruit credentialed practitioners in integrative modalities to offer their much needed services to DC’s underserved.
We sincerely hope you will not only attend our event, but also help us to reach other practitioners. We actively welcome established practitioners as well as students to join us at this event. For those interested, Practitioner Appreciation Night offers a prime opportunity to learn about our programming and to engage directly with our current team.
Kindly share this invitation with practitioners in your network who would be excited about this opportunity. Please also extend our invitation to any colleagues or community members who would be interested in supporting our work or partnering with us as we grow this program. Please don’t hesitate to contact Safi Harriott at sharriott@healthaim.org with any questions.
