Hi, my name is Damian Forrest and I am a Special Education teacher at Wheatley Education Campus in NE, Washington. We will be celebrating teacher appreciation week, May 6th to the 10th and we wanted to see if perhaps we could work out a mutually beneficial arrangement where a few of your students come to our campus and provide chair massages during this special week on one of the days at lunch and they would, in turn benefit from receiving plenty of willing bodies to work on and even a few tips. My mother was a massage therapist for many years and I've always appreciated the benefits massage therapy can bring to life. I'd love to make sure others experience that and the field continues to flourish. Thank you for your consideration and please let me know if this might be possible....I'd love to help arrange it!
p.s. Wheatley is a Title 1 school is NE DC. We serve an extremely high poverty neighborhood in a high stress environment for grades prek-8th. To say we need massage to alleviate some of the anxiety and stress would be a huge understatement.
Teacher Appreciation Week Opportunity; Help Wanted!!!!
Nurses Week this year is May 6th-May 10th and our Research Nurses work days and nights to care for patients volunteering to be in clinical trials. We have had a particularly high demand lately paired with severe staffing shortages, which has subsequently forced many of our staff to put in overtime hours. Any time frame between 7am-5:30pm that our nurses could get massages would be SO greatly appreciated by all of us!

My mother, who is 93, has Parkinson's. She's developed hand and wrist contractures and also edema in her feet due to poor circulation and immobility. She's under JSSA hospice through whom she's had some wonderful massage therapists, I believe all graduates of Potomac.
She currently has a therapist who sees her somewhat irregularly about once a month. I would love to line up a regular therapy session on a weekly basis--and voluntary, if possible. (Resources are dwindling quickly, with private aides on top of assisted living fees). But we would consider paying a reduced fee.
I'm looking for someone who has experience working with the elderly--and Parkinson's in particular. My mother resides at 5 Star Premier Residences (8100 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase, just north of 410).
