Modern Cupping Therapy (MCT) uses various types of cupping equipment to lift the tissue with applied suction, offering relief from pain, inflammation, digestive concerns, circulation, and stress relief. MCT is offering the full, 4-day certification series at PMTI. You may enroll in just the Fundamentals (Days 1 & 2)  to begin incorporating cupping into your practice, or enroll in the full course to earn your certification in therapeutic cupping! Your first set of cupping equipment is included with registration in the Fundamentals class.

You must be a licensed healthcare practitioner or therapeutic bodyworker to enroll in this course. 

You must take the Fundamentals course before you may enroll in Therapeutic Cupping for Lymph Drainage and/or MCT for Pathology and Scar Tissue. 

Additional cupping tools and sets are available for purchase.

Fundamentals of Modern Cupping Therapy 

This class offers a solid foundation in the education and usage of therapeutic cupping. You will learn the theory, science, and physiological responses to vaccuum cupping; safety, contraindications, and client evaluation; and you will learn and practice full-body applications of cupping therapy. (This class is prerequisite to all other MCT classes.)

Therapeutic Cupping for Lymph Drainage This course offers basic, effective cupping techniques for enhancing the body's natural lymphatic drainage. This unique variation of cupping therapy is a great way to advance the education from the Fundamentals course on how to address the entire body with cups!  (Please note that Fundamentals is a prerequisite for this class!)

MCT for Pathology and Scar Tissue (both Fundamentals and Lymph Drainage are prerequisites for this class)

The first part of this one-day course offers lecture and discussion about safe, logical, and effective use of MCT for a variety of common and uncommon pathological conditions. The second half of the day discusses various types of scar tissue and how MCT can be safelly applied to scar tissues. Participants will observe a demonstration of the techniques on scar tissue, and have the opportunity to practice and exchange. A test will be administered at the end of the day to achieve full certification.
